Here’s a new abstract painting – acrylic paints injected into white emulsion! The emulsion was so thick that the end product has topography; it could even be a mountain range.

It used rather a lot of emulsion to generate the thickness (when dry) but I enjoyed the experiment.

Sisters on moorland

A painting with a scene from a story, near their new home on the moorland.

3 Sisters on the moors:

Where a single lane track crosses the moorland hills overlooking the Wherewithal estuary with Smogdale in the distance there is a lay-by with a very extensive panorama. Among the grass, close cropped by willing sheep, stand several granite (granite !) stones.

On the tallest stood Pearl, her hair occasionally moved by the light breeze, the ends catching the sunlight. She looked fondly down at both city and town yet seemed somehow sad at the same time. There was a hint of crows’ feet about her eyes and a tear in one.

Below the stone and a few yards closer to the distant habitation, Annie sat on a stool with a small harp of her own design on her lap. Her eyes were closed as she lived the world of her song.

Crystal, the most energetic of the three over the last two days, lay in front of Annie in the sunniest corner, the best sun trap, and slept.

As Annie ended the song with a gently fading instrumental that echoed phrases throughout the song, the sky cleared and the sun brightened. Crystal opened an eye and stretched. As the music faded she rose with the ease of a cat to stand in front of Annie and Pearl, looked the world, the landscape, the towns, sky, nature and the future openly in the eye, her own eyes sparkling like emeralds, and smiled.

Taken June 20th 2007, in a local footpath in North Cornwall.

The vetch plant is related to peas and beans – used for animal feed and nitrogen fixing in the soil.

A few organic farmers still include some vetch seed when sowing permanent pasture.

This is a legume, like the common garden pea. I’m waiting on Lord D, the expert, to provide more information.

Baby Beauty of Bath apples, June 2007. They should be ready in August!

I bought three apple trees at the same time, Beauty of Bath, Russet and Ribston Pippin. They are ready to eat at approx two month intervals so make a good combination here, and pollinate each other!

update: 2010 they were ready in July, about 300 apples, and i found a home for ALL of them (the first time I’ve been quick enough). By do they ripen fast …

Careless, un-planned – my favourite!

My idea was to imagine the creative spirit, in the broadest sense possible, liberated from matter. The fact that it looks similar to both an animal and a plant is fine by me. Maybe both lifeforms are steps along the path …

A ghost may appear wearing everyday items, like clothing, shoes, jewelry and hair clips…. I think that this makes a statement about a particular ghost, as to what mattered most in their lives as far as personal appearance. And it is interesting how they can come to us through the dimensional portal with these tokens of adornment intact. This just makes me wonder how? How are they able to accomplish this?

More than anything else, this shows us that the spirit possesses a personal will and free expression, to show themselves as expressive beings with keen intellect.

Is mind a spiritual (non-material) entity?

Idealism is a label for the philosophical position that rejects realism. Realism is the view that the world is only matter and that objects are independent of mind and can be known as they really are.
