young apples photos

Just to prove that this year's growing (2013) appears much more promising than 2012; especially for apples:

young apples

This is the Beauty of Bath apple tree. Very early apples (5th July is the record in my garden in Cornwall) but they don't keep. Not keeping doesn't matter ... they are easily given away :)

I've never needed any insecticides or sprays on the organically grown apples - in over 40 years (not all in this garden). But that doesn't stop the relentless advertising of such trash.

Comments:

1. They truly are beauties! Not good for pies or sauce? Too bad. Then they could be frozen.

2. I could make them into blackberry and apple jam. The freezer is always full ...
