Eating disorder IS hunger, but … which food?

Late night impulses to eat, having already eaten plenty of food, are a problem for many people – sometimes for me.

Until the penny dropped – feeling tired after a long day – I’m tempted to watch entertaining TV or film. Unless the film is very good, I.E. meaningful, all it’s really doing is keeping me awake when I would be better off sleeping. And I feel peckish …

When the penny did finally drop, I realised the hunger is real – it is the hunger for REAL food (I.e. symbolic nourishment) rather than literal (excess) calories / sweetness / fat.

Reading a good book works for me – the evening is more satisfying, I go to sleep earlier, I sleep better …

And I hope you can too
