12 fold symmetry rotator

Playing with symmetry. All you need is a pair of compasses:

I'm not entirely clear why I felt the urge to play around with colours, but it might be due to a return of interest in fundamental physics. The symmetries in space-time and quantum theory intrigued me when I was a student, and I always felt there was more to discover. Recent 'popular physics' books, confirm that mysteries remain, and the obsession with field theories seems to predict particles with no mass. Given that all elementary particles (a bad name, waveicles is more accurate) that can decay do so to photons that do possess mass/energy, this begs the question of why mass should disappear when two photons combine to make a particle antiparticle pair.
